Harpist

“I believe we all can learn and play music in a way that brings us Joy, healing and calmness, and connects us to our heart. My passion is to help others find the way.”

Dee Sweeney, Owner and Director of Harp for Healing and the Clinical Musicians Home Study Program.

I am a Certified Clinical Musician, a life-long harpist, a trainer, and a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner specializing in learning strategies. My classical harp studies began in grade school and continued through college. I stopped playing for several decades because of my frustration with the struggle and effort I experienced in learning and memorizing new repertoire.

As a result of studying NLP and whole brain learning strategies, I returned to the harp armed with new learning strategies, was able to learn music with a new ease and rediscovered the joy of playing. Through my later training in therapeutic music taught me to play in a simpler, calming and relaxing style, to improvise with ease and to play for extended periods of time without sheet music.

My passion is teaching people how to learn music with ease and joy through understanding how their brains like to learn, and introducing people to the joy and power of therapeutic music. I believe my expertise in learning strategies and therapeutic music, combined with my personal experience in filling the gaps in my own musical skills enables me to present powerful concepts in an “easy to get” manner.
